Tahiti

The heart of Polynesia

Sometimes overlooked, this island nevertheless has great potential to offer you an unforgettable stay.

Atypical beaches

Polynesia is famous for its magnificent white-sand beaches, but Tahiti's beaches have nothing to envy them. The majority of the island's sand is black. Its beaches sublimate the island's volcanic side and its originality.

Its mountains and valleys

There's more to Polynesia than its dreamy lagoons. And Tahiti underlines this point! The mountains will delight lovers of hiking, waterfalls, botany and rivers... 4x4 outings and guided hikes let you make the most of this beautiful potential in addition to your time & walks on your own.

Its Tahitian market

The shopping aspect of Tahiti is a great asset, with its market bringing together products from all the archipelagos, but also with its boutiques in town, its tattoo parlors, its art galleries...

The Presqu'île, Tahiti's wild side

Whether you stay there directly or not, the peninsula (Tahiti iti) is a different face of Tahiti. It offers a change of scenery without the hassle of taking a flight or a boat. On this land you can enjoy cliff-top views, snorkeling on the patate merveilleuse, hiking in the mountains, watching the mythical Teahupoo wave in season...

TAHITI, an island made for you?

The perfect island for lovers of the land

Tahiti is obviously the best-known island, along with Bora Bora, but it's also the center of Polynesia. All Polynesian life revolves around Tahiti: hospitals, schools, markets. Your exploration begins with the charm of this island divided into two parts: Tahiti Nui (the larger Tahiti) and Tahiti Iti (the smaller Tahiti), which is the peninsula. Here you'll discover black-sand beaches, gourmet cuisine, endless mountains and an ocean that's at times calm and at other times raging with the movements of surfers from all over the world. Tahiti is a perfect blend of wild landscape and modern life.

So how do you know if Tahiti should be one of your must-visit islands? Obviously, no island is essential for a successful stay in Fenua, and the choice of islands is a very personal aspect of your travel plans. There's no right answer to the question of whether you should just stop off and visit the island, or whether you should take the time to do so. But if you like the land, the mountains, the volcanoes, the black sand and the culture (marae, Polynesian history, museums), then we're sure Tahiti will be just what you're looking for!
