Taha'a

Vanilla Island

Highlighted by a world-renowned product: vanilla. Taha'a will awaken all your senses:

Wild beaches

Taha'a is full of wild, peaceful beaches and bathing spots. Here you're a long way from the hustle and bustle of Bora Bora and Moorea: you'll never run into a crowd!

Snorkeling potential

Taha'a boasts two coral gardens considered to be the most beautiful in Polynesia. And after many visits... we can confirm it! The corals come in all colors, and the diversity of fish species encountered makes them exceptional. There's also a manta ray spot for those lucky enough to encounter these giants of the sea, and a blacktip shark spot.

Products and crops

3 local products put Taha'a on the map: pearl farms, vanilla farms and rum factories. Taha'a vanilla is world-famous and sought-after, as it is considered by haute gastronomie to be the best and finest vanilla available.

Its "desert island experience" accommodation

Taha'a is a rather intimate island with numerous motu (islets). Lodges and a luxury hotel have been set up here for an isolated and unique experience! Live on your own deserted island, facing the lagoon and the sound of the waves, completely cut off from the world!

The island for lovers of calm and authenticity

Raiatea's sister island, it offers visitors a beautiful lagoon with a view of Bora Bora in the distance. It's here that the "Tahitian vanilla" is grown, a generous, fragrant, flexible pod (unlike other dry, rigid species). A popular stop for gourmets!

You can't leave this island without visiting the interior (by bike, car or on a 4×4/minivan tour) to see the local produce and viewpoints. The lagoon is also exceptional - it would be a shame not to take advantage of it! Boat tours allow you to enjoy it in small groups or privately. Save some free time to wander around the island - the scenery is well worth it.

Accommodation on TAHA'A

On this island, you won't find an unlimited supply of accommodation, but some styles may suit you better than others:

  • 5-star hotels: Taha'a by Pearl Resorts is my favorite Polynesian hotel of all. It's a splendid Relais et Château right next to the 1st coral garden. The hotel offers
  • 4-star hotels and lodges: Vahine Island and Eden are two perfectly secluded, small-scale resorts for those seeking privacy above all else. Robinson Crusoe atmosphere guaranteed, with all comforts on site.
  • Guesthouses: Fare Pea Iti, Titaina, Au Phil du Temps, La Perle de Taha'a. Taha'a's guesthouses are simple yet warm and welcoming.
