Rurutu
The fruity island
In the heart of the Australs archipelago, Rurutu is an emblem of authenticity in Polynesia:
Atypical landscapes
Rurutu is like no other. In your itinerary, it will sublimate the diversity of the islands you visit: a strong geological interest with its surprising caves and shell fossils, its lagoon, its viewpoints...
A wealth of culture and taste
As is the case throughout the Australs archipelago, Rurutu is no exception for its incredible crafts: pandanus weaving is iconic here, and you won't be able to leave without a basket or hat. But Rurutu is also home to a generous production of fruits and vegetables that will tantalize your taste buds, especially if you're lucky enough to visit during the lychee season!
Rurutu, the island for you?
A rustic yet authentic experience
The island was formed by a series of consecutive volcanic eruptions, giving rise to unusual mountains surrounded by coral cliffs. This natural event has given its name to "Rurutu", which means "the gushing rock". It's also a great place to watch the arrival of humpback whales every year from July to November.
The great difficulty of this island, which is also its great drawback, is the internal flights to reach it: sometimes unpredictable, poorly served airport with few rotations and very few connections between the islands of the same archipelago without going back via Tahiti; visiting Rurutu means adapting to the fixed flight schedule. But once you've got over that hurdle, you're in for a real adventure, with hikes, handicrafts and sea outings.

Vacances Parfaites
3 weeks of bliss in paradise! The islands, hotels and excursions were carefully chosen to suit our profile. We were delighted with the advice on places to visit and restaurants to try, which allowed us to immerse ourselves in Polynesian culture.

Indispensable advice
The whole trip was admirably organized, and when we had constraints or special requests (rooms that didn't suit us, cancelled dive, etc.) she was extremely responsive. Thanks to her, and her availability from the conception of the trip to its completion, we can say that everything was perfect.
