Moorea

Between lagoon and mountain

This island is very often the favorite of travelers, whatever you are looking for in Polynesia you will find it on this island:

Heavenly beaches

Moorea offers visitors their first glimpse of a brilliant blue lagoon and vast stretches of fine white sand. It's a real little paradise, and very accessible, as it's only a 30-minute ferry ride from Tahiti.

Snorkeling potential

Moorea's lagoon offers a wealth of marine discoveries. The stingray and shark spot is superb for its shallow depths, where you can meet stingrays and blacktip sharks. The aquarium is also a great spot in the lagoon for swimming with the fish.

Relief and hiking

Moorea's land side is not to be underestimated, as the island has incredible potential: the Belvedere, the Magic Mountain, the Sentier des 3 Cocotiers, as well as valleys and pineapple fields.

His tank dives

I particularly love Moorea for diving, because it's generally easy and 100% fun, and it's not unusual to come across turtles. A real privilege!

MOOREA, the island for you?

The perfect island to start your island adventure

Just a few dozen minutes from Tahiti, this island paradise has it all: rich mountains, white sandy beaches, an infinite turquoise lagoon, abundant marine life and attractively priced artisanal stores. Moorea is our favorite island in the Society archipelago, and we're more than happy to share it with you.

A visit to Moorea's interior by 4×4, quad, bike, equadbike or hike is a must! For the aquatic side, a boat or transparent kayak tour will take you to the best spots in the lagoon. Culture is also strongly represented on Moorea with, for example, the Tiki Village cultural center, which organizes art workshops during the day, and a dinner show in the evening with a Tahitian oven. But Moorea is also an island with great potential for self-discovery. With just a rental car, you'll have access to many local sights and do-it-yourself tours.

Accommodation in MOOREA

On this island, you won't find an unlimited supply of accommodations, but some styles may suit you better than others:

  • 5-star hotels: The Hilton and Sofitel are the island's 2 5-star establishments. They are charming, but beware of their age - they are more like 4-star hotels in terms of local standing.
  • 4-star hotels : The Manava Beach Resort is one of my favorite hotels, especially the premium garden bungalows with private pools or stilts.
  • 3-star sup hotels: Cook's Bay and Niu Beach are modern, brand-new establishments with very comfortable room categories!
  • 2-star hotels: I really like this category of hotel - they're not bad, and you shouldn't be afraid of them. They're simply charming, Polynesian hotels. Les Tipaniers and Hôtel Hibiscus, for example, are pillars of this category.
  • Guesthouses: Moorea Beach Lodge, Moorea Island Beach, Linareva. These are warm, comfortable establishments
  • Rentals: Moorea Sunset Beach or Moorea Lodge offer great options for couples or families for a little more autonomy (fully equipped kitchen, washing machine...). Perfect for long stays on Moorea!
