Fakarava

And its pass to the 700 sharks

Fakarava is our favourite atoll, a true isolated paradise:

Its heavenly lagoon

Fakarava is an atoll, so there are no hills or mountains, but instead a large lagoon full of fish. Both north and south, snorkeling here is full of encounters and colors.

His tank dives

Fakarava is world-renowned as one of the most beautiful diving spots. The south is well known for its 700-shark pass, where schools of grey reef fish form. But the north is not to be outdone, with its pass home to numerous Napoleon fish.

Accessibility by public transport

Although isolated, Fakarava is directly linked by a non-stop flight from Rangiroa. This makes the atoll just as authentic an experience as a stay in Manihi, Mataiva, Ahe or Anaa (atolls lost in the Pacific), but without the hassle of transport!

Simple, authentic accommodation

There are no hotels here, so lovers of luxury and large resorts will have to make an exception. Only guesthouses. In the north, they are rustic but offer a minimum of modern comfort. In the south, the atmosphere is more isolated and the accommodation offers a "Robinson Crusoe" experience.

FAKARAVA, the atoll for you?

A place for diving or for the surrounding peace and quiet

Fakarava is a favorite with divers and ocean lovers alike: the dives here are world-famous, including the famous wall of sharks at the south pass. A turquoise lagoon, unspoilt tourism - what more could you ask for? Unlike Rangiroa, Fakarava is very sandy, and there are beach and swimming areas everywhere you stay. No accommodation is without beach access.

If you're a diver, diving in the north and south is a must. If you don't dive, don't panic, you'll love this atoll just as much. With lagoon and snorkeling trips to the north and south, you'll enjoy breathtaking scenery!

Accommodation in FAKARAVA

On this atoll, you will only find guesthouses:

  • North: Havaiki Lodge is the atoll's only premium guesthouse. Or, for a more rustic experience, Veke Veke Village, Vaiama Village, Paparara, Tokerau Village, Fafapiti Lodge...
  • In the south: we work with the charming Raimiti guesthouse
