The Aranui Cruise

The iconic Marquesas and Austral Islands cruise!

The Aranui, the only cargo boat cruise!

Unparalleled authenticity and a human experience

A cruise unlike any other. You share the voyage with predominantly Marquesan staff, who are here to share their culture as friends.

A zero ecological footprint

The ARANUI's 1st objective is to bring freight to the most remote islands. With or without tourists on board, the boat leaves, so your presence on board has virtually zero ecological impact.

Is the Aranui cruise right for you?

All-inclusive but unpretentious!

The Aranui is the iconic cruise for Polynesia, and more specifically for the Marquesas archipelago. More recently, the cruise is also offering a number of dates to discover the Australes archipelago.

This is a far cry from the cruise ships of the big cruise operators, and if you're a customer of ML Private Travel, it's unlikely that you're looking for a boat with a nightclub and waterslides. Well, here you are on a boat that's all about authenticity. Bar and restaurant areas, and a stern with a small pool and solarium. The cabins are quite small, but you won't be staying long, so you'll often be out and about. You have a choice of double, twin or single cabins. First there's the standard cabin with obstructed view (lifeguard channels, pole) or with ocean view, the quadruple cabin for families, the deluxe with balcony, deluxe superior balcony, junior suite with or without balcony, premium suite, royal suite with or without obstructed view and presidential suite. Note that the suites are usually at the top of the boat, so they're a little more rocking, and the entry-level cabins are a good option for those who are a little more sensitive to the sea air.

Aranui cruise advantages :
  • Visit the most inaccessible islands: Fatu Hiva, Ua Pou, Ua Huka, Rurutu, Rimatara, Raivavae...
  • The staff on board are fantastic, and are all about sharing and closeness: no barriers between customer and employee!
  • On-board comfort and the presence of a doctor 24 hours a day
  • Unique entertainment: Marquesan dances, handicraft centers open for island cruises
Disadvantages of the Aranui cruise :
  • The cruise has a certain cost, not negligible in your travel budget, averaging 6,000 euros per person.
  • Cabins are not large (but comfortable)
  • You spend about a day on each island, so the days are quite intense and you can't do everything on one island.
