My name is Marie-Lys, alias ML, because that's what my family, friends and colleagues call me. After a number of professional experiences in the Parisian Palaces, I turned to the world of travel by becoming a Travel Agent. A real globe-trotter, I've been traveling the world since I was very young. As part of my career in the luxury hotel industry, I stopped off on the warm sands of French Polynesia. Welcomed by its inhabitants, I lived there and immersed myself in its culture and legends. I met some wonderful, loyal contacts who I treasure for the rest of my life: a network grew up around me. Back in metropolitan France after just under 1 year of Polynesian life, all I could think about was going back. In love with this paradise, I return to my beloved country as soon as possible, for 2 months, 1 month, and at the same time start organizing stays for my family and friends, just for the fun of it. Sharing this paradise became my goal. ML Private Travel was born on January 16, 2021.
Opening a travel agency in a covid context extremely risky for the tourism world was a real gamble! I started by offering French Polynesia, which I know inside out. The concept of offering more than just a trip, but complete 24/7 support, was immediately appealing, and our first travelers immediately recommended us. It was the reputation built up by my travelers and partners, as well as word of mouth, that made the agency a success in its first year. Far removed from the advertising and communication resources of the big agencies, ML Private Travel still stands out today for sharing the authentic experiences of its travellers.
But once they'd been won over by our way of working and my vision of travel, my travellers were keen to continue the adventure with us in other destinations. Of course, I can't offer the whole world, given the concept and the exceptional expertise required in each location. But in response to the many requests from my travelers, two new destinations have been added to our expertise since 2023:
Metropolitan France: my native country, but also a return to my roots, as my career in tourism has enabled me to identify exceptional partners (hotels, guides, restaurants...) to offer unique stays. Discover the most beautiful regions of France for a long stay or a short weekend!
Mauritius: I was lucky enough to cross paths with this country, which impressed me with its maritime and land potential. I'm honoured to be able to offer it. It's a well-known destination for which I'd like to offer a different way of discovering it, through authentic and unique experiences that demonstrate that Mauritius isn't just made up of heavenly beaches, but is also a combination of culture, mountains, jungle and lagoon.
